Our children are our future, teach them well

"The greatest gifts you can give your children are the roots of responsibility and the wings of independence." - Denis Waitley

Sacrifice our today so that our children can have a better tomorrow

As I begin this short post I want to start by saying, as parents our children depend on us to teach them and help them succeed; If we don't accept the challenges parenting faces then we aren't doing our jobs as we should.

Ever since my son's biological father hasn't been in his life he has made some positive changes, he has taken to my husband like he's known him his whole life and they bond well with each other. I don't know what changed but one morning our son woke up and just wasn't himself, he began struggling in school and unwilling to abide by any rules. He understood that something was wrong with him but didn't know exactly how to fix the issues he was facing so we looked into a few treatment options to help him as we no longer want to rely on medications that allow him to simply "cope" with his issues. After a mass amount of research we found Brain Balance, a place we feel confident can help him succeed and grow in the areas he is lacking. When meeting with the center we learned that our son was lacking the connection to the right hemisphere of his brain and with intervention they could help train him to utilize both hemispheres of his brain. As it stands he currently relies on the left hemisphere and lacks the connection to the right, meaning he acts on impulse and is unable to relate to the "bigger picture" which allows us to understand consequences and understand outcomes, etc. It is an expensive treatment, for me anyways, but I owe it to our son to help him succeed in life. Maikel is a brilliant little boy with a HUGE heart, although a little misunderstood he has the full potential of a promising future! We will keep you updated on the process of his therapy, too early to recommend this center but I have nothing but high hopes.
